"Great location to downtown Monterey. Staff was very friendly. The hotel was built in 1909, it kind of had a cool spooky feel to it. Would definitely stay again on my next visit. My only complaint is the valet price is high and you really need to valet. It didn’t feel safe to leave our car on the street. "

"The room standard is not much higher than cheaper motels, but it is okay. What makes the difference is a swimming pool with heated water and a hot tub, as well as great location - close to the beach, a lake, and a playground. My family spent a nice time there. "
