"Wow! Where to start..? What a stunning place to stay! I wish we had stayed longer! The welcome was lovely our room was amazing! Absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was so good, typically Scottish & a real treat! We went to the sea at Lunan Bay which is literally a 5min drive past the property - this area was gorgeous. Huge sand dunes but a beautiful stretch of beach, peaceful and calm. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended. Thank you for looking after us so well. "

"Super stay with truly amazing views. Whilst a steep walk down to the beach and back from the property it was well worth the effort as a fantastic beach. The fact that we had the beach all to ourselves on the first day was an added bonus. Great walks from the property. Property was very well equipped and Gary a lovely welcoming host. "The hotel is easy to find with plenty of parking. Check in was quick and the girl who showed me to the room was very polite and friendly. The room is big enough for what I needed, although maybe a little dated and the only thing I would really say that was a negative is the room was cold. There was no heater in the room and no air conditioning to heat it up. I do prefer a slightly cooler room but this was cold. "We enjoyed our stay in this very old and rustic castle! Robbie was super friendly and very knowledgeable about all the history! We learned alot from him! Thank you for the tour! Loved the castle its self and the grounds. Location was fantastic! Minutes walk down to the beach! "

"I loved the Ship Inn. The staff were very helpful. The room was perfect for what I was looking for. It was walkable from the train station. It was convenient to walk to Dunnottar Castle. I went out early to run and felt safe. The locals were friendly. Lots of cute little restaurants and cafes. The Ship Inn restaurant was very good. I would stay again."

"Nice friendly indepedant guest house. Some rooms are non ensuite. I've used both ensuite and non ensuite and no issues Good value for money, friendly and a good breakfast. For the price there's nothing to dislike. Internet is pretty good for working, along with desk space. For me it ticks all the boxes."

"Beautiful old building with huge rooms. Unfortunately there was an issue with the heating but or oom was still warm. Shower in our room was pretty old and wasnt very powerful but the room more than made up for it! Our daughter loved the sweets in the room! "
