"Really nice hotel, spa was nice. The suites could use some upgrades (the windows) there was water between the glass panels so the view couldn’t be enjoyed as much as it should have been. Especially when the heat was on full as it was -3 and it was just cloudy window panes. "

The staff are outstanding here from Ash at reception to Manuel in the dining room and Hannah in the spa. The many lounge areas are lovely and very tastefully decorated. "We chose this hotel as we wanted a quiet night away not too far from home and away from the busy tourist areas and it didn’t disappoint. It’s hard to judge a place on a quiet weeknight in November but we had a lovely stay. The room was lovely and clean with everything we needed. "this is our 4th stay at Rothay and it remains one of our favourites in the lakes. in winter it’s great to cosy up after a long walk in the garden spa, and the rooms and ambience is really comfortable without any pretentious swagger for which some of the other hotels in the area would charge you £100 per night more. breakfast is good quality and staff are friendly and efficient "

"Definitely not worth £500.. checkin reception, Lack of information given about hotel and room. Not guided and advised where exactly our so called.sweet was as different building to hotel. No toothpaste, showercaps or essentials which you get in average hotels now days. No stocked mini fridge.. sauna was not even hot enough even after hour.
