"Welcomed with a warm greeting from the lovely lady who checked us in. Hotel was very clean. The room was ideal for 1 night. Only downside for me was a smell that was coming up through the sink plug hole smelt a bit like the drains which was not great when trying to sleep"

"I am a regular and only stay in this hotel when in Birmingham. The service is amazing and especially Victoria is such a kind, helpful, friendly and lovely member of staff. She allowed us to check in early and was very reassuring and sorted out a fridge for our room. Rooms are extremely clean, and it’s always a pleasant experience. We do miss the pool though, but gym is a bonus. Highly recommend "

"Very nice hotel lobby and bar area, decorated beautifully for Christmas. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The route to my room on the 1st floor (rm 111) was difficult because of all the stairs (I'd recommend replacing them with ramps). Also, in an effort to be green, the lights in the newer wing would be off and come on as you passed under them, giving the hall a very creepy, uninviting vibe. "Good location and easy public transport into the city centre for a busy December weekend. Very friendly staff, easy parking and a good price. We chose the superior room so weren't in the ground floor motel style rooms, although we only used the hotel for sleeping."

"Restful night at the hotel. I wouldn’t say the rooms have the wow factor but they are certainly comfortable and spacious. The toiletries in the bathroom were excellent. "Nov 2024 - This is a very old pub, persevered very well and in keeping with it's original historic 656 year old design. Great food and drink selection and wonderful staff. With that in mind, it is a pub, and therefore very noisy until around 12am later at weekends. "Lovely place, nice staff, good location. Beware of the car parking, £30 per night not the £12.50 per night on-site covered parking as was described to me (screen shot at booking). They do have off site parking for the lower price."
