"Our stay at Nara Ryokan was perfect - very lovely quiet stay and beautiful rooms, and an amazing onsen/public bath. It wasn't listed for the hotel, but you are able to reserve a "family time" for the onsen use where I was able to privately share the onsen together with my husband and our friends with tattoos were also able to utilize for their own private time, which was a great experience, particularly with the provided robes and slippers. "Sugoi!! Having travelled to Japan six times now, and stayed in practically every type of accommodation from family ryokans, hostels, business hotels and big “western” style hotels…this by far has been the best. Why? The amazingly friendly and helpful staff. The room design has a nice traditional twist for a modern hotel. Would recommend a lake view room too (great for people watching and having a little deck in a hotel in Japan is unheard of). Highly recommend. "
