However, Howfield Manor is a beautiful building and even in December the grounds were lovely. I would like to stay there again. "

"Great location and easy parking (discounted rate provided at hotel - simply park up and pay at Reception). Our room was spacious and comfortable with double aspect windows looking out towards the river. Could do with a little TLC (extractor fan not working in the bathroom and toilet flush not great!) but nothing that affected our stay. "Staff very friendly and helpful especially Radu. Location excellent, short walk from town etc. our room didn’t have a hairdryer or bath robes as advertised, but I’m sure if we had asked we could have had this rectified. Most beds were very creaky!! Fantastic breakfast. Although we didn’t use the pool, we were told it was lovely from others. Comfortable room and free parking, we would stay again. "

"Super friendly hosts, great breakfast, comfy bed and room was great temperature. Everything was great except the shower is very very very small. We're slim so we managed but if you aren't, I fear you will struggle to even get into it, let alone be able to stand back up if heaven forbid you drop something! "Comfortable room, good shower and bed. Tea and coffee making facilities were welcome. Breakfast was fine. Room was quite noisy as on main road but ok unless you’re a very light sleeper. Overall, good value. 15 min walk into town, which was fine for us and free parking was helpful "

"The room had excellent facilities, was attractively furnished in keeping with an historic building and village and spacious. Staff were kind and considerate and thoughtful, much appreciatrd as we are in 80s. Menu allowed for variety of choice, food well presented. Highly recommend New Flying Horse to.all and commend owners for such a high class. well run business at reasonable price "
