"Never been to Watford (from US) but took a chance. Turned out to be an amazing place. Cool old UK pub and above, modern chic rooms. Ann Maria was the bartender and hotel host and she was outstanding and a hoot. She treated us like family from the moment she met us. Sean the manager treated us the exact same way. "Really friendly staff. Easy check in. My room was at the front of the building (room 7) so i had some traffic noise which of course is not the fault of the hotel. They advised that when i stay again i should request a room at the back. Would definitely stay again as really easy access to central London from Hendon tube which is a matter of minutes away on foot. Room and bathroom were spotless and clean The car park at the back is a challenge to enter with a big car but so long as you can cope...

"The room was facing a garden with rear access from the room which was handy having a dog , the bed was comfortable and the room clean and well equipped. The breakfast in the main house was varied and good value."

"The room was larger than I thought and very clean. The ensuite was very good with excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff were very helpful and although the tills were closed in the bar they still served us night caps. I gave a 4 star for comfort because their pillows were so high they unbearably uncomfortable, but the problem was very quickly rectified. The breakfast was exceptionally good and very generous. Wed definitely stay there again."

"Excellent location , ticking all the boxes for what we needed : very close to train station , excellent walking and running routes along the canal and sufficient pubs/restaurants close by to suit our needs. "I requested for a higher floor room which is quiet and they gave me just that! They had lots of options on the food menu and they left some tasty chocolate cookies on the desk. Everything was clean and furnished nicely. There’s vending machine with some nice options. It’s very pretty looking inside, the elevators and all around. I really enjoyed my stay :)"
