Take the plunge at SEA LIFE Timmendorfer Strand, an extensive aquarium with a wide range of family-friendly marine exhibits. Kids and adults alike can learn about the amazing sea creatures that call the North and Baltic seas home. You’ll also learn about creatures from beyond the bay, including tropical sea turtles, piranhas and Asian otters, as well as animals from the Baltic Coast’s local rivers and lakes.
Step inside the wave-shaped building and begin exploring the amazing underwater world at SEA LIFE Timmendorfer Strand. The awe-inspiring walk-through aquarium is designed to make you feel as though you are venturing below the surface of the ocean. Take a step into the deep and gaze up as fascinating sea creatures swim overhead.
The aquarium’s tropical section is displayed across this magnificent glass tunnel. You might see crabs walking daintily across the ocean floor or an octopus spreading its tentacles across the glass. Spot sharks and rays cruising effortlessly through the water. Watch as aquarium keepers feed SEA LIFE’s resident sea turtle, Speedy, and find out about how these graceful creatures live in the wild.
In the aquarium’s rainforest section, look for fascinating creatures from the forest-fringed oceans of Asia. Highlights here include piranhas, boa constrictors and the playful Asian small-clawed otter. Bonnie and Clyde are the aquarium’s resident otters and are plenty of fun to watch at feeding time. If you’re feeling brave, make your way to the interactive touch pool and plunge your hands into the water to feel the different textures of sea creatures.
