North Coast hotels from RM40

"Three day stay in Taipei - very good selection for swimmers. Top floor has a 19m pair of swim lanes and the pool is heated. Had considered the Grand Hotel for the swimming but they didn't have rooms. They have a 50m pool as part of their facility, but I was reminded by another swimmer that they don't heat the pool. That may be OK in the summer, but wouldn't have been welcome at 60 degrees F in the morning. Pool belongs to a health club collocated at the hotel, so the lanes get crowded fast. Get in early."

"Our friends booked this hotel so we followed suit. It turned out a pretty good experience for us. Convenience is the key word. A metro station is right next to the hotel. It’s a quieter neighborhood so we rest well. Few places we planned to go are within walking distance. My wife like Mr Brown Cafe few buildings down. "

"I am impressed with the spaciousness of this hotel, including the lobby, sitting areas on each floor, dining/restaurant, my hotel room/bathroom, and the fun see-through elevators which are plentiful with nearly no wait time! I had a lovely view of the city from the 15th floor which I enjoyed day and night. Both coffee and tea (plus bottled water) are provided each day. Super comfortable bed allowed for restful sleep and relaxation. It was my little piece of heaven for 6 nights. The only negatives I can think of are the shower temperature is not easy to adjust and the hotel is a little far from MRT station (maybe I'm spoiled.) The Breeze shopping center is right next door for food court, supermarket, etc. A comparatively larger size Seven-11 is connected to the hotel so you don't even need to leave the hotel to get snacks or other daily use items. I would love to return to Illume in the future!"
