"Old school and old building. Excellent location and views, spacious rooms, fine service. The amenities were ok. The main issue is smoking. A non smoking hotel that hands out matches in every room, what do you think it’s going to happen? If you’re a smoker it’s for you. For me it was always an exercise in opening the windows to get the smell out of the room and close them quickly when the suicidal monkey next door smoked in their balcony"

"Lovely old style hotel on the banks of the lake. Big airy rooms. Staff were all very friendly and breakfast was good. "

"Good value in a great location. I had a room overlooking the lake - was quiet enough given the relatively busy street below. Nice little balcony as well. Check-in was easy. Some furnishings were a bit rough around the edges but everything was clean."

"Wonderful hotel in the perfect location. Views from rooms with a view of the hotel are breathtaking. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance and literally across the road from Montreux train station. Would highly recommend "

"The property was lovely and we had a stunning view of the garden and lake from our balcony. The main patio off reception is gorgeous with seating areas and a fire - which was a bonus as it was chilly. The property is right on the promenade that takes you to the main strip. It's about a 10 minute walk along the promenade but the walk is beautiful next to the lake. "

"This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at.The staff are outstanding. Polite, helpful with excellent English but prepared to humour my attempts at speaking French. The room was wonderful with an incredible view across the lake to the mountains. The breakfast buffet was amazing, especially the eggs Benedict cooked to order. The spa was good too. I could not recommend more"
