"We had to move rooms twice because the rooms were dirty. The first room the carpets/floor hadn't been cleaned, there was crumbs of food all over the floor and on the chair within the room. We informed the front desk, who were actually very good, and were told it would be cleaned by the time we were back from a walk. It hadn't been cleaned some 5 hours later so they move us. "In the 'real' Shanghai beneath the high-rise buildings, seeing people as they go about their day, back from main roads. AC was a it strong, especially in the bathroom. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially Tao and May. Some maps/brochures/helpful tourist information would be good. I would recommend this place to anyone."
