"Hanoi Royal Palace Hotel 2 is a small older hotel. It rained the entire week we stayed there and our room felt damp. There was always condensation on the windows as well as the walls and floor in the bathroom. There was no fan in the bathroom which added to the problem. Rooms are not soundproof and the noise from the busy Hanoi traffic was constant. On the positive side, the staff were all excellent. The place was clean and well cared for. The breakfast was good and the service was great....

"REY hotel was very comfortable for our 5 day stay in Hanoi. The hotel is walkable to all the best eating spots in the Old quarter and the hustle and bustle of the Vietnam streets. The hotel itself is also very modern and clean. Bao Linh -GSA was also very helpful in recommending a delicious traditional Vietnamese restaurant and providing assistance throughout our stay. "

"Note that although this hotel looks very near the train station on the map, it is on the wrong side of it for passenger boarding, so you have to walk about 10 minutes around the (long) block. Other than that and its location on a very busy road with no meaningful sidewalk (which is hardly unique in hanoi), this is a great place: clean, nicely decorated, huge bed (in our room, anyway :)"
