"I had a unit on an upper floor with a great view from the balcony. The breakfast buffet was very decent but nothing special. I did not like that the road the hotel is on has no sidewalks (partually due to construction) and it's a decent walk to the metro station. The bathroom had some black mold in the shower, and the hotel requires you to ask for all amenities and so the room doesn't even come with hand soap near the sink which is a bit annoying. Otherwise it is a fairly nice room and hotel....

"This is formerly a motel so the check-in is actually not in the front lobby but at the driveway entrance. The overall condition of the hotel is rather tired, compared to the photos on the website. There is also a musty smell in the room. The room we got was also smaller than we thought, compared to the photo online. Overall, the only strength of this hotel is probably just the price."

"Location is great and staff is really nice. However, the room didn't seem to have been completely cleaned before our check in. Bathroom carpet was moldy and dirty from previous guests but as soon as I asked for it to be changed they promptly did."

"The rooms and property are clean for Western standards. This is probably the best feature. There was no odor to the room. The walls are thin so you will hear neighbors if the TV are talking is louder than normal. The gym is limited with equipments, but it does have a separate sauna, jacuzzi room which is nice. The biggest negative is the breakfast. The choices for breakfast were limited and mediocre. The front desk customer service was mediocre."

"This hotel was truly exceptional. The price was cheap. The quarters were immense. Breakfast was great. The bathroom was incredible: huge bath, steam bath, bidet, shower with multiple simultaneous jets. This is the best hotel I have ever been to."

"My check in with Pony was great. The staff here are wonderful and hard working. They accommodated any and every request. They held our luggage for us before and after check in, which was really appreciated. They go over and above what is expected, this is a lovely hotel which we would come back to. I want to thank Alan at the concierge for being so welcoming and always a pleasure to see and talk to. He is friendly and respectful to all the people coming in! He is valuable and truly a delight!...

"The staffing, location and rooms were really great many things to do and MRT was located underneath the hotel. The hotel is under construction at this time which was a little distraction and also our first night our room had bugs. The staff was very receptive to our situation and moved us to another room right away. All and all I would stay there again, location was amazing.. "

"The location was super convenient, leading to the heart of ximending within a couple of minutes walking. Staff were lovely upon check in and the minibar with free noodles and free snacks was a cherry on top to rest and eat after a long day of exploring. Highly recommend this hotel if you are wanting to stay in a convenient location in Taipei!"

"The hotel is great, at the best location of Taipei, super convenient to subway and bus stations, a lot of restaurants and vibrant night life. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is also nice. Hotel offers currency exchange, however only accept $50 or $100 bills. We had $20 bills so they couldn’t provide the service, That would be my only suggestion. We would definitely stay at Solaria Hotel again. "
