"The room was huge and gave us plenty of room to spread out. It was difficult for us to navigate with big luggage with the many stairs up to the 4th floor as there are no elevators. The room was still being cleaned when we arrived, but was done fairly quickly. Hotel is old and it shows. The room was sufficient for our one night stay and if you are looking for a no-frills, fairly basic location, this is one to consider. "The hotel birke is a beautiful hotel in many ways, absolutely 5 star reception area, bar and restaurant. Beautiful furnishings, service and lovely and cosy in the winter with open fire in these shared areas. I had a cosy garret room which was lovely in a lot of ways except for the carpet, which was really very very stained with drops and brown marks, it really needs replacing or a thorough steam clean and was off putting, i did not want to walk on it as it did not feel clean the sheets and...
