This San Francisco ecotour gives visitors a personalized experience in Northern California's gorgeous natural environment with a local scientist enriching every step. Golden Gate Park, tiled steps and a panoramic view of the city cap off some highlights along the route.
Guests begin the urban hike in the city’s vast Golden Gate Park, meeting in one of the park’s beautiful redwood groves, learning all about the tallest trees on Earth. Next, we’ll continue to explore the park stopping at hidden gems like the Monarch Bear Grove, Shakespeare Garden, and the park's many hidden statues. A walk through the Music Concourse and the alongside the Conservatory of Flowers will cap off our time inside the park.
The journey will continue through San Francisco's bustling Inner Sunset neighborhood. Guests will have a chance to purchase famous and freshly made San Francisco sourdough bread and baked goods from the multiple bakeries in the neighborhood. We will learn the history of the neighborhood, marvel at it's unique architecture and bump elbows with locals getting an authentic slice of life in the city.
Finally, we'll make our way up two sets of the city's iconic tiled stairways composed of thousands of intricately placed ceramic tiles. The tour culminates at a favorite viewpoint over the city, Grandview Park, where, depending on the day, guests will either catch a view from the Pacific Ocean to the Bay or a bird’s eye view above the fog that serves as San Francisco’s natural air conditioning.
The tour will finish along Inner Sunset's 9th Avenue Strip with excellent options for dining as well as easy access to public transportation to the rest of the city.
