Ask any Italian what their favorite region to eat is and the answer will most likely be Emilia-Romagna! Bologna, Modena and Parma, just to name a few cities in the food Valley, are home to some of the culinary specialties that have made Italy famous throughout the world like the Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Modena and Traditional Balsamic Vinegar.
Our tour will combine a behind-the-scenes visit and tastings of these fantastic products.
We will pick you up with a private driver at your hotel around 9:00 a.m. and drive you to the first visit where you will assist to the live production and discover the secrets of the making of the king of cheeses, the Parmigiano Reggiano DOP. The best possibile conclusion will be a tasting of ricotta made on the same day, different ageings of Parmigiano and snack with truffle savoured cream combined with a glass of our typical Pignoletto wine from the hills of Bologna.
The next gourmet stop will be a family-run artisan ham factory where we will learn the production process behind this delicacy and finish with a Prosciutto di Modena DOP tasting served with local Lambrusco wine.
We will conclude our taste experience by discovering the secrets of the black gold of Modena, the traditional balsamic vinegar that you will taste “young”, aged 12 years, and “extra old”, aged at least 25 years!
The return to Bologna will be at around 2 p.m.
