The Cuilápam convent was an ancient convent in Mexico, located in the municipality of Cuilápam de Guerrero, in the Central Valleys region of Oaxaca. It is a 16th century building, of impressive dimensions, but it was never completed. Among its most characteristic architectural spaces is an open chapel, a type of religious construction characteristic of the first years after the conquest of Mexico, devised with the purpose of congregating a greater number of indigenous people to convert to Catholicism.

El Tule

Among the natural beauties of Oaxaca, one of the most extraordinary is the gigantic and unique juniper called "El Árbol del Tule", which has a height of 40 m., a diameter of 52.58 m., a weight of 509 tons, and approximately 2,000 years old. It is located in the town of Santa María El Tule, just 12 km from Oaxaca City, where there is also a small 18th century temple with baroque altarpieces.

The archaeological complex and the current town are Zapotec, Mitla was inhabited from the classical period (100 to 650 AD) reaching its maximum growth and apogee in the post-classical period (750 to 1521 AD). The greatest attraction of the archaeological zone of Mitla is undoubtedly the varied ornamentation of its buildings, achieved through the system of fretwork that distinguishes it from the rest of the country. Five groups of constructions known as: South Group, Adobe Group, Stream Group, Columns Group and Church Group can be seen. The first two are classified as ceremonial complexes, made up of mounds and central plazas, the other three are classified as palaces organized with rooms around quadrangular patios.
