Cuilapan de Guerrero

The Cuilápam convent was an ancient convent in Mexico, located in the municipality of Cuilápam de Guerrero, in the Central Valleys region of Oaxaca. It is a 16th century building, of impressive dimensions, but it was never completed. Among its most characteristic architectural spaces is an open chapel, a type of religious construction characteristic of the first years after the conquest of Mexico, devised with the purpose of congregating a greater number of indigenous people to convert to Catholicism.
San Bartolo Coyotepec

Our last visit will be San Bartolo Coyotepec, known worldwide for its famous black clay.
The main attraction is the black clay pottery made by local artisans whose originality and designs are unique in the world. In some establishments, such as "Doña Rosa", the rudimentary techniques of preparation are shown.

We will go to your hotel to pick you up to start our tour. We begin with a visit to Teotitlán del Valle, a Zapotec town famous for the quality and beauty of its woolen textile products: rugs, jackets, bags, sarapes, tapestries, “corridors”, carpeting, curtains and dresses, made in large quantities. wooden looms decorated with natural dyes, whose designs range from traditional Zapotec and Mixtec fretwork and taps to reproductions by contemporary painters.
El Tule

Among the natural beauties of Oaxaca, one of the most extraordinary is the gigantic and unique juniper called "El Árbol del Tule", which has a height of 40 m., a diameter of 52.58 m., a weight of 509 tons, and approximately 2,000 years old. It is located in the town of Santa María El Tule, just 12 km from Oaxaca City, where there is also a small 18th century temple with baroque altarpieces.
Zona Arqueologica de Mitla

The archaeological complex and the current town are Zapotec, Mitla was inhabited from the classical period (100 to 650 AD) reaching its maximum growth and apogee in the post-classical period (750 to 1521 AD).
The greatest attraction of the archaeological zone of Mitla is undoubtedly the varied ornamentation of its buildings, achieved through the system of fretwork that distinguishes it from the rest of the country.
Five groups of constructions known as: South Group, Adobe Group, Stream Group, Columns Group and Church Group can be seen. The first two are classified as ceremonial complexes, made up of mounds and central plazas, the other three are classified as palaces organized with rooms around quadrangular patios.
Hierve el Agua

Site of singular interest for its spring waters and for the spectacular landscape in which it is located. It has a series of natural pools from where you can admire the petrified waterfalls that are part of a pre-Hispanic irrigation system.
Mezcal El Rey de Matatlán

Our last one will be a Mezcal factory where we will learn about the process of this drink, and we will enjoy a tasting of the different flavors.

Guelatao is a small mountain community, famous for being the birthplace of Don Benito Juárez García, Benemérito de las Américas. Its name means in Zapotec "Laguna del Encanto" or "Enchanted Lagoon".
Located in the mountainous landscape of the Sierra Norte, Guelatao offers its visitors various cultural and historical attractions, such as the old temple, today the municipal pantheon, or the "Crónica de la Obra Juárez" Museum, which, among other objects and documents, houses reproductions of illustrations that narrate the life of the hero, as well as a miniature of the float that the former Mexican president used to tour the country. You can also visit the municipal palace, which keeps historical data on view, a wide civic square with a magnificent statue of Don Benito and one of his mother, Brígida García; the “Pensamiento Juarista” library, with important documents, and the replica of the original house of Benemérito.
Capulalpam de Mendez
