In 2011 it was named a Magical Town thanks to its history and its magic inherited from the native peoples of the region, as well as for its diverse tourist attractions.

The Cadereyta Regional Botanical Garden was founded on April 25, 1991. It belongs to the Education Secretariat of the Government of the State of Querétaro and is attached to the Science and Technology Council of the State of Querétaro. Since 1952, the site occupied by the Botanical Garden has been relevant for research, since at that time a nursery was installed where Yucca filifera and Yucca valida were planted, on five hectares. Later, the property returned to being a simple pasture until 1990. Today, it is dedicated to the study, conservation and use of Mexican flora; particularly, that of the Querétaro semi-desert.
