"My daughter and I had a wonderful stay. The only thing that could have been better would have been to have a thicker bed spread. The bedcovers were very thin. Other than that, our stay was amazing! "

"We had a wonderful 4 days/3 nights. We however want to share an extremely rude encounter with a day desk clerk, Monday, 3/24. My sister and her 2 kids were looking for a vacation spot and decided to swing by Shephard's to spend the day, eat great food, etc. When we asked how to make that happen, the clerk went through the do's and don'ts (there were quite a few to remember and relay to my sister) my husband asked her to write down the fees so he didn't give wrong information.....the clerk wrote THIS on a piece of paper - "come see me" and then crumpled it up and gave him nothing. My husband is the nicest guy on the planet, so he just walked away. I tried to find a manager in the office so as not to be cranky in front of other guests...but never found one in the office. Completely unnecessary treatment of my husband and terrible behavior by anyone representing Shephards! My sister called to get the information - got the same person and was also treated unkindly. Other than this EVERYONE else was top-notch. Friendly. Fun. "

"The hotel is very clean and nice. All the people who work there are friendly and helpful. The pool, beach, tiki bar space and restaurant were wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. The only warning I have for those considering it are the hidden fees… 30 a day parking, 35 a day resort fee and to rent chairs and umbrella at the beach about 80 for the day which can add up if your already on a budget."

"Love this hotel! This was our second time staying, and again was great. Only thing I was disappointed about was the lack of first floor amenities (no laundry, fitness center, etc.) but that’s understandable considering the circumstances (hurricane previous Fall). You cannot beat the location, would love to stay here again :)"

"We brought our 4 legged friend with us. She had as much fun as we did. The staff was great and the pool was a blast. Dining options between the 2 sister hotels make it so that you dont even have to leave the property. Hats off to opal sands and opal sol. Will be back soon. "
