"This was the fantastic hotel in every way. We paid £120 for upgrade room with big size and queen bed. Everything was fantastic. Room clean, friendly staff, breakfast was brilliant. "On arrival Large gravel car park to the rear not great for suitcases with wheels and a £15 per day charge. "Lovely hotel really close to the city centre. The room was a good size and didn’t have any shared walls so it felt private and tucked away. It was well presented with gorgeous decor and a very comfy bed. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this hotel again. My only comment about improvements would be that the cleaning in the room seemed a bit rushed and one of the robes had a big foundation mark on it from a previous guest which was a bit off-putting. "Location, location,location! It’s at the heart of all the action and n York. Virtually all the tourist spots are easily walkable. We had a family room. It was spacious. Yes the hotel is old but staff was very helpful and more or less things were clean. Breakfast was good. "

"Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "
