"Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "

"This hotel was roughly 15 minutes or less walking distance from all the main attractions in York. Great to walk out and see the castle right in front. The rooms were clean and decent size for the double bed room, and had pleasant staff. The included breakfast had a nice assortment of hot and cold food options. "We arrived late due to our trains and our room was over looking the main road so very noisy. I asked to move rooms which they did and this room opened onto the car park with only one small window. As we were staying 3 nights the hotel very kindly moved us to a larger room in the main building the next day which was much more comfortable. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was good "
