See majestic creatures roaming the fields of Peacock Park, near the Sun Moon Lake. The males display their colourful tail feathers in the spring and summer months. Listen to the intriguing calls of this exceptional bird.
The town is split into many tiny villages with agricultural economies. Enjoy the pleasant temperature year-round, although a rainy season takes place from April through September.
Fly into Taichung Airport, west of Nantou County, or Hualien Airport on the opposite coast. From either of these international transportation hubs, take a train, bus or rent a car for the long drive into the centre of the island.
