"As nice as the owner and family are, I can't really recommend this place. Location is 2km out of town so you must have a car. Location is very quiet at night but in the hotel room you can hear water running from toilets etc in other rooms and people walking on the floor above. And I had some sort of tapping sound in my room early in the morning on the second night which made it hard to sleep. There is a fridge and hot water urn in the room, but no tea or coffee (lucky I had my own)and only...

"A really pleasant hotel close to lake Toya. The traditional Japanese room was excellent to experience and the onsen with its both indoor and outdoor baths were phenomenal. There were other amenities such as free bike rentals to take advantage of. "Little but expensive compare with what they have served. Long queue for self check in, early arrive if you want to join the activities afterwards. Room is big but dust is easy found, air conditioning not quite function. Great for kids, but most of the activities need to register & pay extra. Good place for dining with free playground, the outdoor onsen beach is nice but better to bring a footwear to protect your feet especially for children, the ground in the beach area is easy to hurt...

"It was a traditional Japanese room where you sleep on a futon on a tatami floor. The room was beautiful with a nice sitting balcony room that overlooked the side of the mountain. The only problem was the smell of the dust that gathered on or inside the tatami. We don't know whether this is normal and we just aren't used to sleeping in a tatami room."
