Even though he had just finished a night shift he volunteered to help us get into the public car park (we had arrived in a terrible storm and parked in the wrong one). "We stayed at the property based on the reviews which did not live up to the rating. The walls and the pillows were both paper thin and when the cleaner started vacuuming in the halls at 8am that ended our sleep. The area did not seem overly safe and we were glad the parking was secure."

"Mostly a great place for an overnight stay. The only criticism is the efficiency of service in the restaurant needs to be vastly improved overall. After being given the bread shortly after being seated, which was lovely, we waited over an hour to be be served what we ordered and the whole of the evening meal took at least another hour. "We stayed here when we had a rental car and wanted to explore the Basque area of Spain. We did day trips to Bilbao, San Sebastián and Pamplona. The Parador is in a beautiful setting and the room was very comfortable. We did all our eating and shopping during our day trips so the Parador was a quiet, country setting to relax. We did eat breakfast at the Parador but no other meals. Breakfast was good - very typical Spanish style hotel breakfast. "
