"I really loved the personalised service provided by the owner as it is a family owned hotel and they go above and beyond to make you feel like you're at home. "Although I arrived late, and the hotel was at capacity due to the IPL opening game, I received very quick and efficient service from the reception staff. My suite was beautiful (Victoria suite) and every moment at the LaLit Great Eastern felt like a journey through time and history. The food was also good and the staff at Alfresco were helpful and friendly. I would absolutely recommend here for foreigners. "

"When my taxi arrived at 3 AM and looked at the hotel exterior, I laughed. It was too funny. But once I got into the hotel and my room, I was cool with everything. Clean, comfortable albeit very small room and bathroom shower system in which the entire room is the shower! Something new for me but I learned quite typical in India. "While convenient for access to the city, the immediate area is not particularly pleasant. However, the hotel, while it provides all that is needed, is a little 'tired' as to its decor. But, the in-house 'pure veg' restaurant and bar is excellent, providing breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff are charming, friendly and efficient. It may not be 5* but gets an A from me. "
