"Very cute hostel. The inside had great design and amenities, like extension cords, card games and hairdryers. Checkin was no-contact on a tablet. It had a little trouble finding my name but I guess it wanted my full name (first and last) typed in to find it. We stayed in a western style room with bunk beds. "We wanted to visit Naoshima, and at the time this hotel seemed like a decent choice. What a disappointment! Hotel is stand-alone, 5 bus stations from the center of Ueno, without any restaurants near it. Hotel is '70s architecture' and so are the rooms and the decor. Carpets are dirty and worn out, dirty glass front leading to terrace (with amazing sea view), poor breakfast, no control of AC, no closets/drawers at all, ...Consider this hotel only if you canwt afford to sleep on the island."
