Those travelling to Stranda will find that the Sunnmøre village is sparsely populated. This may be due to the huge, precipitous and frankly imposing mountain walls found everywhere around the municipal capital.

Perhaps the most iconic product made in the village is the Pizza Grandiosa, while Ekornes Møbelfabrikk is a big name outside of the country's borders. From Geiranger, many tourists take the 10-minute drive up to the Flydalsjuvet viewpoint, with its sensational views of the village and the fjord. If you drive a bit further, you will find the Nibbevegen road, which runs from Djupvasshytta to Dalsnibba – 5,000 feet above sea level.
