"Never having been to Rio de Janeiro, I relied on the photos of and from the Hotel as well as the reviews. Since the moment we arrived to the time we left, we were elated about our choice. Ipanema was walkable. Our fourth floor balcony with ocean view was simply breathtaking . I have to add that our bed was SO CRAZY comfortable, were it not for the view tempting me from bed just there between our curtains, I might not have seen ANY of Rio. OH, the food! Their restaurants were superb and service/staff that truly spoiled us all week. I would highly recommend Sheraton Grand Rio and would return there in a heart beat. "Everyone is very friendly. I’d say make sure you know basic Portuguese, as communication is difficult outside from reception. It was very close to the beach, they provided beach towels so it was really nice to have that. "
