"The room was very large. Lots of space and the bed was comfortable. Needed some extra pillows. Quiet. Good price and well placed for accessing Southend shopping and theatres. The carpets in the room could do with being replaced as many stains."

"We really enjoyed our stay here. Host was excellent: knowledgeable and welcoming. Location was good, secluded enough but easy to get to all areas of the island. Food selection in kitchen was fab and available 24/7, never had that at a b&b before. Room comfortable and internet readily available too. "

"It was our second stay at The Holiday Inn Hotel in Southend and it was excellent. Easy check in, all staff were friendly and excellent service. The room was a very good size and was spotlessly clean, lovely bathroom with fabulous smelling toiletries. Everything you would need was in the room including a safe. The breakfast was excellent so much choice. Easy parking at the hotel cost £10.00 a night. I highly recommend this hotel."

"Great setting overlooking the sea. We had a Deluxe Double room with balcony which was great - weather warmer than expected so we did sit out on occasion. Not a lot of hanging space in our room with wardrobe and fridge/kettle/hairdryer in second half of cupboard, hence 4 stars. Maybe a few hooks by the door would have helped for outdoor clothes. All in all though the atmosphere was great and the room was lovely. Front desk extremely helpful and warm welcome. Dinner in the evening was great...

"Fabulous calm atmosphere, lovely restaurant, no quibble fitting me in at 8.15pm on a Friday evening (they serve guests up to 8.45), would definitely stay again. Every member of staff is friendly and welcoming. It is clearly a nice place to work for them and they are a great team."
