"I came in early winter. Very much the low season. In winter the place feels truly remote, a refuge from the world, which is what I came for. There are a couple easy thing they can do for low-season guests below. The building interior was nice and warm. It was a very nice refuge from the cold, The room was so warm that even with the thermostat all the way down I was overheating until I cracked a window. Yes, in an Icelandic winter. "My spouse and I booked the Fosshotel Hellnar as a stop on our Iceland road trip. It ended up being the perfect location to stop after 1 day travel from Reykjavik and partway around the Snaefellsnes peninsula. We were cold and tired by that point and the Fosshotel was so comfortable on our arrival. The fireplace in the lobby was very inviting. The room was spacious, comfortable and the heated bathroom floor tiles were such an appreciated luxury to us that day. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel...
