"If you are looking for a remote lake get away in northern Otsu this is ideal. This location suits the out door adventure types who want to be away from Otsu city. The lake was an amazing place to swim. What also would be a Great Lake side party atmosphere and relaxation with a group of friends. Amazing cleanliness despite the overall facility being quite old. "Very tranquil and quiet property. Loved our stay and very friendly and helpful staff. Recommend booking the dinner option early as we did not and there weren’t any reservations left. We did book the breakfast. Would come back and stay for more than 1 night!"

"Our check-in was tremendous: the woman there was so efficient, gracious and kind and her English was perfect. All Japanese hotels maintain a high standard, but the Okura is in a category all its own. And the room is comfortable, and graced with a lovely view."
