"We stayed in a 4 dorm, 2 adults and 2 kids, for 4 nights. The hostel was great for us in terms of location, cost, and room space. They serve some amazing lunch and dinner options there too! The hostel was one of the quietest I've ever stayed in and the facilities were all fairly clean and well equipped. "

"The private room was exactly what was advertised and what we needed. More counter space in the bathroom would have been nice. One of the employees overcharged me for detergent pods. "

"Our family (2 adults, 8yr old son) stayed in a private 2 double bed room for 6 nights in March 2025. We were extremely happy with our experience. The room was very spacious and the bathroom/shower rooms were wonderful. I would definitely consider staying here again and recommend it to small families. There is a shared lounge and kitchen which we utilized to cook additional veggies as we found it lacking when eating out. There are two induction ranges and pots of water come to boil very quickly....

"Worst hostel I’ve been in Japan. It’s dirty, noisy and smelly. The beds are not fixed so it very noisy when you move. The rooms are not well ventilated and smells bad. You can find better for the price. "

"The place is clean, the bedrooms are spacious, the common rooms are cozy, the showers are high pressure, and the staff were very friendly. The only complaint is that the house dog situation was, for the time that I was there, a little concerning. They were quite vocal and unfriendly for the most part, apparently because they were in heat. I believe the staff when they say it's not always like that. But overall I greatly enjoyed Guest House Matsu so much that I kept wanting to spend time there...

"Stay was great! We are a family of 2 adults and 4 kids and there was enough space in our room for a comfortable stay. Hotel is 2 blocks from a main avenue with a lot of dinning options. The hotel doesn't ship luggage, only receives and storages them, however, there's a 7-11 a block from the hotel to ship luggage. Rooms were clean and everything was as expected. "Very convenient to USJ and the USJ city walk. Staff was very helpful. We had an emergency and we had one staff member (unfortunately we didn't get her name) looked up and called every hospital that was open and available during the weekend. She was successful and applaud her for it however our daughter decided she didn't need the hospital and was feeling ok. "

"APA Hotels are always top notch! Love the self check in. Room is so cosy with a super comfy bed & the usual high standard toilet & bath. Love love love the high quality hotel freebies like the toothbrush & shaver. The public bath is my favourite! It was the biggest one I’ve seen for APA! And of course, the 24hr LAWSON in the building itself!"

The Park Front Hotel at Universal Studios Japan

5/5 Excellent

"Two adults two teens stayed in a Quad room for 1 night to get an early start for USJ the next day. I carefully considered hotels and locations - this was the most expensive hotel night of our trip but ultimately worth it for the convenience and experience. It would have taken 3 trains from Shin-Osaka station to USJ station so we got a taxi instead, and to Namba station when we left. Front desk, porter and concierge staff all so helpful, inckuding storing our luggage after check out while at USJ. The hotel exterior and lobby has a gorgeous opulent art deco time travel decor. The hotel breakfast room/buffet room looked large but very crowded so we opted for quick breakfast at the cafe in the lobby (doesn't open til 7am) watching people run to line up! Convenience store off the lobby, and meals at the City Walk street opposite hotel (pedestrian walk) is so convenient. Beware in January it was BITTERLY cold and windy at USJ, dress warm! Loved the park view of the lit up rollercoaster from our room. Would happily come back if doing USJ again."
