The highlight was the "safari" with Kenneth, around the property to see birds. One of the best birding experiences we've had. "Hung up in unbelievable traffic in Santa Cruz, I was not able to check into the hotel until 7 AM the next day when they reopened. So I don't have the overnight experience one expects. That said, the room was very clean, the shower had good hot water, and I did get a morning nap on the bed. Fort7nately, it is off the road a bit. But noise carries and young Costa Ricans love their motorcycles. So if you are super noise sensitive that might bother you, but the traffic is really light on that...

"Azura was a beautiful and peaceful resort with a great beach and wonderfully friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation there and would recommend it to others. That said, the resort as a whole was short-staffed, which resulted in some longer wait times for food and drinks - not a deal breaker, just room for improvement. Also, given Costa Rica is known for its coffee, the coffee at the resort was subpar. Again, just room for improvement, but still a wonderful experience. "
