"Overall check in was hassle free, only thing was that WiFi did not work for us. I would also suggest that the property have some basic toiletries available, like shampoo, soap and maybe solar when power drop. This is standard in most higher price rentals. Other than that, the stay was great, the house is very big and clean, and beautiful views"

"Amazing gem of a place! Loved every minute. Great location, cottages are nicely furnished, reasonably priced and the meals at the farm shop are awesome. Wine Hoppers will even drop and fetch you from this location. Will keep coming back!"

"The marketing information visible on website is not accurate at all. Upon our arrival in Franskraal it became immediately obvious so we spoke to the host and we agreed that there would be no cost to us if we decided to leave. We left within an hour feeling very disappointed"

Reason being, that there is no oven and the BBQ area is situated in the centre of other u it’s, so no privacy for anyone and impractical. Close enough to the seaside that you can walk, great fynbos area in front of unit. Very clean and a comfortable bed. Strong and hot water in shower. "

"This guesthouse is undoubtedly one of the best beach B&Bs I’ve ever visited. The decor is charming, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Its location is spectacular, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. The hosts were incredibly sweet, making the stay even more enjoyable. "Whale Rock Lodge is a lovely place. Very much a home away from home. Staff welcoming and efficient. We had a room in The Villa; a separate building to main house with it's own entrance and car park but only 30 steps to main building. The room and bathroom were large with fridge & tea/coffee making facilities. Good sized balcony with comfortable seating. The 2 pools - larger at main house and one at villa had plenty of sunbeams and other seating. Pleasant sitting rooms in both buildings. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast or buffet style continental. Cliff walk into town takes approx 40 minutes but too far out of town to walk for dinner. No Ubers and only a limited number of taxis in Hermanus."

"This is in the top 3 of the best value for money accommodation we've ever stayed in! Why? The location, the welcome, the room, the SUPERB breakfast, the local knowledge and advice, the electric bikes we hired. And in particular the way hosts Stefan and Nikki interacted with us and the other guests, somehow bringing us all together which enhanced the stay even more.We made some great contacts with people who had stayed at Penguino previously .... which speaks volumes in itself. Hermanus is a lovely, chilled-out place and when we go back we will be staying here again."
