This is a very nice traditional large Costa Rican house in upper Escazu. It's away from the "Gringo" part of the city, set well back from the road at the top of a hill, with sweeping views of the surrounding area. It's not far to walk to groceries or restaurants. The property is a little hard to find, there is a sign, but it has distinctive windows and they are well lighted, this is how you'll find it from the street (look at the pictures so you know where you're going).
The dorm room was clean and comfortable. It may get hot at night if it is full, there is no AC or ceiling fan. I was the only guest, though, so it was fine.
The owner is very friendly, US educated, perfect English, and well experienced in hospitality. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a shared kitchen and it was clean. I had to leave very early (4am) and the owner opened the gate for me so I could leave on time.
