Beautiful beaches, year-round sunshine, amusement parks and a natural park are among Roquetas de Mar's biggest and best attractions. Head to the oceanfront resort town for seaside relaxation, water sports, wildlife spotting and days packed with thrills and adventure.
Beaches are the town's main attractions and there are several to explore, such as Playa Serena and Las Salinas Beach. Relax on a sun lounger and participate in a range of water sports. If you need some new beachwear head to the Gran Plaza Mall.
While most visitors spend most of their time on the beaches, Roquetas de Mar also has plenty of other ways to keep you entertained.
See more beautiful natural spaces at Punta Entinas-Sabinar Natural Park and walk among this wildlife-rich dune ecosystem. There is also some good walking and wildlife spotting on the promenades that skirt the salt marshes between Roquetas and neighboring Aguadulce. For guaranteed encounters with the underwater animal kingdom go to the Roquetas de Mar Aquarium.
Unsurprisingly the aquarium is a big hit with children and so too are some of the town's other attractions. Delight in the thrills and spills of Mario Park water park with fast and leisurely rides and slides. Additional family fun awaits at Castor Park, a small amusement park with games and activities for all ages.
If you are into history and art visit Santa Ana's Castle. This restored 16th-century fortress presents art and photographic exhibitions. Another important building in Roquetas is the Plaza de Toros bullring.
All the sightseeing and activities will leave you feeling hungry so treat yourself to a meal of local delights. Seafood is a specialty with dishes made from sea bass, sea bream, lobster and other native species. Round off the evening at the Teatro Auditorio.
