"PROS: - AMAZING property. We hangout at the pool almost every day. There are only 5 rooms (3 bungalows and 2 'glamping' tents) so it was almost like we had a private pool every day. Impeccable views from the pool. - Made to order breakfast every morning (free) served on the deck overlooking the jungle and ocean. Meal changed every morning. Usually was some sort of egg dish (scramble, omelet, etc.) with toast. One morning was chia seed pudding with fruit on top. Always fresh cut fruit and fresh juice on side. Such an amazing highlight of the day. - A staff member manned the bar/reception until late morning and then again in the evening. They were super helpful in arranging EVERYTHING. We arrived late in the evening our first night and were starving. The hotel is up in the jungle and a little difficult to access without an ATV. The receptionist was able to give us a few options for good delivery, took our order, and arranged delivery. They also arranged our ATV rental and horseback riding. Almost every day we asked for dinner/lunch/takeout recommendations. Seriously so helpful with everything you might need. Was also able to WhatsApp message them if away from hotel. When you're in a foreign country and don't speak the language, the help they provided was invaluable. CONS: - Although it's a double-edged sward, the incredible views did come with the fact that you had to get up/down the hill every time you left. Renting an ATV is a MUST - Wish they provided beach towels"

"This place was a great choice, 2min walk from Samara beach, staff was friendly, they had onsite food available, very nice bar beverages options by the pool. Pool was kid friendly with some stairs and nice shade during the day. Room had nice A/C and very comfortable beds, was very spacious and had very nice seating area. Will definitely come back to this hotel with my family. "

"I love boutique hotels and Leyenda is no exception. The grounds are quite beautiful. They greeted us with a welcome drink! We stayed for 3 nights total, family of 5. We had the superior 2 bedroom and the room was good but we did add an extra room after our first night for more space and another bathroom (my fault for thinking the 3 beds/1 bath would be sufficient with two teens). We enjoyed the big pool! Wished it was a bit cooler to be a refresh from the heat, or that a part of the pool had some shade (never thought I’d say that!) We ate 3 dinners here and each dinner was AMAZING! I can not recommend their dinners enough. Warning: the portions are HUGE and very shareable. Unfortunately, the complimentary breakfast buffet was not as good as their dinner. However, the made to order cappuccinos were lovely. We took the shuttle to the beach one day and I highly recommend Playa Carillo as it was the best beach we visited in Costa Rica. Just stunning! The next day we drove our rental car to the beach and back. Overall, I would return here again. For the price, the location and amenities are a great deal. PS. The Asiatic restaurant is not open, which we were looking forward to. Luckily that main restaurant had a large variety and incredible food."
