"We had an amazing overnight stay. The team of people working there are superb, everyone we met was great. Our beautifully designed room with a very comfortable bed. "Beautiful location in wine region. The hotel itself is a stunning building. My room was supposed to be a single but really felt like a ballroom which a great balcony. The restaurant, which is attached to the hotel, is award-winning and a must-try if you stay here. Baden cuisine at its finest, plus excellent local wine paired with the food. "

Cool hotel - comfortable rooms.

"The hotel design is incredible- I hadn't realised that the property had been a prison - unique and interesting and all decoration is to a high standard. Rooms are very comfortable. 1 downside- we arrived late after being delayed due to the most horrendous electrical storm and had called ahead to say we were going to be late and ask if the restaurant would still be open (or we would stop on the way). We were told that it would be open until 11. We eventually arrived at 10. We got food but the bar menu was essentially bruschetta or beef tartare. My colleague is gluten intolerant and asked if she could have a omelette but was told no. We asked for dessert at 10.50 and were told that the kitchen was closed. The staff were professional but there was no flexibility for very tired, hungry travellers who have to look to the hotel as a home from home when they are away. It was a bit of a shame. When you travel a lot what makes things easier and the difference from a good experience to a great experience is empathy."
