"Beware - I booked through Expedia but will not do that again as when couldn’t get a flight in time for the first day, and I tried to change the booking to arrive the second day of my week long stay, it cancelled the whole booking and re-booked at a much higher rate. "We loved this historic and quirky hotel. The room and bath were spotless and comfortable, and the bed and linens were high-quality. We didn't like the stairs (there was no elevator), but it was only two floors. We had help with our bags at checkout. The location is perfect in a little alleyway connecting two main streets. "We enjoyed our stay at Albergo Celide. The staff was friendly and a great help in setting us up with bikes that we were able to use for the full day to ride around the city. We were grateful to be able to check in at the last minute after having to leave a awful hotel that we were originally booked in by Travelodeals."

Friendly staff, convenient location and cute hotel

"The location right next to the train station is so convenient (couple blocks to the walled portion of the city). The staff appears to be a family, super cute and helpful. Rooms are pretty large. The beds were maybe not the best but we'd totally stay here again given all the other benefits. Breakfast was delicious and varied with many options. This hotel is a gem!"

"Very spacious apartment could not have been more central to all the sights and brilliant, varied dining options. Rachel, who checked us in, went well beyond her remit. She sorted out a digital interactive map of Lucca for us, tea bags, suggestions for dining from breakfast, ice creams, value suppers to high end. And she organised our taxi at thr end. We had the benefit of a fridge and brought yoghurt and fruit back, only to realise no bowls or cutlery are provided so Rachel brought us some of her own! Would suggest a minimal selection of plates and cutlery would be a bonus. All in all a fabulous 2 nights. 3 days and we didnt want to leave! "
