"Stay was short and sweet. Arrived late and key was easy to get to in the lock box. Was out before anyone showed up and left key in the lockbox. Nothing fancy, but a great place to shack up for an early flight. Shuttle arranged and showed up early."

"I had a great stay at Refugio Lodge in Tamarindo! The rooms were nice, clean, and well-maintained, making for a comfortable stay. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of Tamarindo and just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. The staff was wonderful, especially Agustin, who was incredibly helpful and communicative. He was always quick to answer questions, provided great recommendations, and helped us arrange tours. The guys in the cafe and the bar staff were all very kind...

"A great boutique hotel in a great location between Tamarindo and Langosta but at the moment temporarily disadvantaged by all the new construction next door. Boho provides member access to the Langosta Beach Club just across the street. Room design deserves an award. "

"Shannon was an excellent host. Nice breakfast each morning sat above the pool area. Our bungalow was clean and comfortable with daily maid service. A few minutes walk to the lively town and beach where all the action of Tamarindo is going on. The pool was great to cool down and relax in the hammocks and day beds under the shade. The bungalows are an excellent small, homely oasis to chill out and escape the corporate world. We would stay again with Shannon and her lovely staff. "

"We had a great 2 night stay, the breakfast was simple but delicious. Staff were so helpful and friendly. It was about an 8 minute walk to the beach. Great areas for sitting. "

"We were only passing through for a night but this place was amazing! Vincent was super helpful with restaurant suggestions and there were a few great places within a 5 minute walking distance. The shower was huge and had hanging plants. very comfortable bed, and great pool...will definitely stay here again"

"Pretty remote location about two hours from the airport. Roads are horrible or non existent. Nice pool. Electricity was out for 8 hours with no generator. Nice breakfast every morning. A couple of decent restaurants in walking distance , nothing fancy but food was good . Lola’s right on the beach and Gregarios. Only a three minute walk to the beach. Hosts were friendly, welcoming and informative. "

"Beautiful and quiet place renovated recently ! The rooms and facilities (garden and swimming pool) are well maintained ! Ideal for enjoying some quiet and relaxing time. Excellent breakfast ! Located in the land, 15min drive from Tamarindo. We had a pleasant stay here !"

"The hosts were on property, friendly, kind. The room was spacious, modern, clean. Breakfast was available when we wanted it. Swimming pool was lovely. Iguanas, birds and fauna were a bonus! Would absolutely return!"

"Great place, great value, great location, great breakfast. The pool was a bit small, but the ocean and beach are only minutes away. TV was poor, if that's important to you. Stayed for 6 nights. "

"Very nice property, clean, felt safe, great value. Some construction noise but it didn’t impact our enjoyment of property. "

"We loved this property location. It is VERY safe and convenient for a relaxing vacation. We traveled with another couple, who booked a different room on the property and had included the beach club ($30/person) and daily maid service, for the same price. We did not realize that was an option when booking so would suggest reaching out about that. "

Hotel Riu Palace Costa Rica - All Inclusive

"I am very through when it comes to trips. If you are a solo traveler or even looking for a family vacation . This is a good place to stay. Pros: - The hotel staff is very kind and helpful. Even the workers fixing up the hotel. Easy to show you where to go if needed. - It is safe ! The resort is gated and there is security that checks cars and vans coming in and out. I saw a comment about someone losing money from their room. The resorts’ gate security checks employees belongings before leaving work. - Food choices are pretty good for all inclusive. They have an omelette bar in the mornings where you can pick your choice of fixings for the cook to make. So yummy !! - I did not book excursions prior to my trip because I felt I would get better deals at the resort and I did !! There are different companies at the resorts that offer many excursions. I went on the volcano sight seeing / hike with a mud bath . It was an experience I will never forget. - Souvenirs: The resort has amazing shops to buy souvenirs, however I love how the local merchants were allowed on the resort on the beach. You are able to negotiate prices with them. Some can be more aggressive to sell than others. Con’s: There’s no true nightlife at the resorts, except a mini club on the outskirts and the shows the resorts have a 9pm nightly. - BUGS ! I made sure to lock my screen door at night because the creatures come out at night. I still ended with a beetle in my room. Overall a good vacay spot "
