Emma was a great manager. The property rooms and bathrooms were really tidy.
We loved our stay and will be back for sure. It’s a nice spacious lodge with a big fireplace and a fantastic kitchen. Lovely to chat to other guests as well.

Kandahar Lodge, Mt Buller - great place to stay
Kandahar Lodge is an excellent place to stay on Mount Buller. Has everything you need for a skiing trip - well situated, clean and tidy, excellent communal areas, great communal kitchen, and Jenni and Reggie are very welcoming managers.
The property is overpriced. No facilities for a huge amount per day. Felt like staying in an asylum.
Shared bathrooms & toilets and tiny rooms with bunk beds for the price of a five star hotel rates. Absolutely waste of money.
Communal/shared amenities, tiny room, booked for three people, towels only provided for two. No-one else staying in the whole lodge we get a room only just big enough to fit a double/single bunk bed (that is one bed for three people). No toiletries provided, paid top dollar got a backpacker outhouse.

Kandahar was exactly what I was expecting - well appointed, all necessary amenities, spacious kitchen and communal spaces. I look forward to going back to Kandahar during the ski season!!

Clean, comfortable, basic accommodation. Shared kitchen was clean and well equipped. We stayed with our 3 children and it was fine. We were all happy to spend the day skiing and then go back to Kandahar to cook our dinner, eat and watch the footy in the communal area. Bedrooms only suitable for sleeping - no couches or chairs. If you or a member of your group didn’t want to ski all day you might prefer accomodation with your own living space. Would recommend Kandahar as one of the cheaper family accomodation options on the mountain.

Kandahar Lodge - great ski lodge
A well maintained and very functional lodge. We shared a 6 berth bunk room between 3 which worked fine, would have been cosey with 6 as storage space minimal but with spare beds worked fine.
Beds were comfy and room clean as were bathroom facilities.
Sally the manager was very helpful.
Would definitely stay again.

Cosy and comfortable
Right in the middle of village, close to action. Be it the ski gear hire or eatery or the lift access all are with in 5 minutes of walk. Linen and the temperature of room as perfect. Would highly recommend.

Lovely atmosphere. Very helpful staff. Excellent location
You can't lock the door. You get a key pass, I'm not sure why? You don't need a key pass. I opened the door without the key pass. The room door does not lock..? If you have anything valuable be aware of this dilemma.
The rooms are small.
Car park is an issue as well.

Perfect ski accommodation
As our family had not stayed on the ski slopes before, we were very unsure of where to stay. With 1 adult & 3 children (10, 16, 16), our criteria were: location accessible to Mt Buller village & Bourke Street; a lodge that had a friendly communal space; & relatively reasonable pricing. Kandahar ticked these 3 boxes & we loved it. We had 4 bunks in the one room & shared a bathroom & shower rooms with about 4 other rooms, which could have been an issue at peak times, but it was very quiet on the slopes just after the winter school holidays & Kandahar was nowhere near full. The manager was wonderfully helpful with ski advice. It is a steep slope to walk to Kandahar from the village, but we enjoyed that aspect too. Cheers, Kandahar!

Clean, warm, smell good and friendly staff
The room is clean and warm. The bathroom is clean and smell nice too. The kitchen is big and spacious and they have a big living room for us to relax together. Reasonable price for mt. buller area during high season..

This hotel is not good. Staff is not nice and very fussy for their customer. They didn't consider customer's feeling. They didn't clean room but just turned off heater. The room was too noisy. We had to went to sleep later and got up earlier in the morning. That's very bad. This hotel is worse one which we stayed before in mount buller.
