"We had a great stay at the Somos. Staff was friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay great. They arranged airport transportation, offered tours, and even packed us a to-go breakfast when we had to leave at 3am to make an early morning flight. The rooms are lovely and well appointed (two suitcase holders would he helpful for couples with two suitcases), and the buffet breakfast is delicious. "This was definitely a case of the "the pictures are better than the reality". The room was dark, but quiet. Unfortunately, it was pretty dirty. There was hair on the toilet and in the shower. The sheets were of questionable cleanliness and I really shouldn't have lifted the mattress, but I couldn't help myself. The neighborhood is not the best, but it is close to public transport and some cool parks and buildings. During the day it is safe enough, but be careful walking at night (but that could be said for most of Medellin). Overall, it is a convenient, cheap option, but if you are willing to splurge an extra $10 or $20 you should be able to find something much better."
