"Absolutely stunning views, with property leading out onto a gorgeous unspoilt beach. Friendly staff. Loses a mark as on the final day we left our bags on reception where they insisted they would be safe and looked after while we went out for lunch. However we walked back in and got them without anyone checking. Slight security concern they need to look at as lovely place otherwise :)"

"This hotel is one of a kind, the staff is incredible, the views out of this world! The room was honestly my favourite of any place I’ve stayed in all my travels. Clearly next level design and architecture in a very subtle and tasteful way. The spa treatment was wonderful and the cooking class under the banyan tree was magical. I wish I had stayed longer and definitely will next time I am back. I can’t express how fantastic this hotel is thank you for making us feel like home ❤️"

"Let's just say, I will definitely return. Clean, design like, minimal hotel. Private access to one of the best beaches in the South. Staff are friendly and the place feels homely. Easy access to local beach bars, restaurants, the train station, etc. Walk, tuk tuk, book a car via the hotel. If you are looking to relax on a quiet elegant property, solo or with partner, take it day by day, with amazing views, I recommend the Sandhya. Thank you. Frances (British)"

"It's a fabulous place. Beautiful rooms and the pool is fantastic. Breakfast was lovely, a bit fiddly with the coffee machine but no complaints. I was disappointed having arrived at 8.30pm that the 'all day dining' wasn't available. There wasn't any indication of the closing time on the website for evening meal. Had I known I would have eaten on the way. So perhaps make that clear on any booking in future. "

"This hotel away from the tourist area. Bit difficult to reach because of narrow road. It was very quiet hotel , we are the only one during the stay of two nights. Food and kitchen facilities are inadequate. Not happy management ask extra for extra bed in a same room. Because I have three kids and did pay for three people while I was booking. "

"Property is a nice place. The service was very slow and bad. Checked in and was told there is a power failure, power will be up in 20mins and after an hour, power is not up yet. Checked in the room for stay with my sister, was only given one bath towel in the room. There is no amenity (shower gel n shampoo) TOP up on day 2. When we went to the pool and the beach, ask for pool/beach towel and was told they have run out of beach towel, ask for bathe towel instead and never arrive. Wifi was very...

"Firstly the reservation hadn't been received so I had to pay for the room again and rely on a refund from Hotels.com. Nice room but very noisy with train line adjacent to the building. Location wasn't great with a 20 min walk into Ahangama and no nearby restaurant or food shops. I left one night early but no refund for the unused night from the hotel. Overall not a good experience."

"Request a refund ASAP. I did not stay at this property because they were already booked to other guests at the time of my arrival and the person who owns this is denying me a refund. I ended up having to search for a new property after landing in Sri Lanka. Expedia please help me with my refund. Please get in touch with the proprietor and assist with my refund."

"This is a beautiful property nestled inside the jungle on a mountain slope and we had stunning views of the ocean from our plunge pool suite. However, the food was atrociously bad. They had limited menu, which is alright but the quality was horrible. The included breakfast was made to order, when my wife ordered pancakes, they brought us cold pancakes prepared much earlier. Same with the fresh cut fruits. Next day we went outside for breakfast as we had our own vehicle. We wanted to utilize the Spa service and asked them the day before. They don't have any inhouse staff for spa. But they couldn't arrange anyone from outside. Imagine, they have "Spa" in their name! The wifi was a bit patchy. We didn't utilize the pool(it is a small pool) as it was raining most of the time during our stay."
