Spend some time in a scenic winter and summer playground that is alive with exhilarating, challenging and relaxing outdoor activities.

Männlichen Mountain has year-round appeal, with its 7,687-foot (2,343-meter) Alpine peak where you can ski, hike, sled and mountain bike, among many other outdoor adventures. Enjoy these thrilling pursuits amid some of the most spectacular scenery in the Alps.

Experience the beauty and majesty of the Alpine landscape on a hike. Select from short, long, challenging and tame routes to suit any ability and energy level. While all offer fresh mountain air and incredible vistas, some of the best views can be seen on the Royal Walk. This involves a 30-minute ascent from the top cableway station to the summit. Note that the road between Männlichen and the cable car middle station of Holenstein is suitable for wheelchair users.

The Lieselotte Trail is especially suited for families as it incorporates numerous games and activities along the route, such as a cow-milking competition. Quicken the pace on a mountain bike tour of the terrain and tackle fast downhill stretches.

Visit in July for the National Costume Festival and the Mountain Spring Festival, two colorful celebrations of Swiss traditions and folklore.

During the winter, go skiing and snowboarding on the mountain’s groomed slopes. The ski area here is suitable for all abilities. Navigate the bends, steep passages and gliding sections of the sled run.

For a slower-paced pursuit, go winter walking on the mountain's trails. Take the Royal Walk from the Männlichen summit station to the summit. Trek the 2-hour route from the Männlichen summit station to Kleine Scheidegg, a mountain pass. Along the way you will cross the Arvengarten nature reserve, which features Swiss stone pines, a type of pine tree native to the Alps.

If you have children in your group who want to improve their skiing abilities, take them to Children's Paradise for expert instruction.

Männlichen Mountain is part of the Jungfrau ski region and is located above the mountain villages of Grindelwald and Wengen. From Grindelwald, take the 3.7-mile (6-kilometer) long scenic cable car ride. From Wengen, access the area via an aerial cableway.
