"The hotel was all in all a good place. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was decent enough. I appreciated the compostable plates, but would suggest to completely reduce one-time-use plates/cups/silverware, and just use regular dishes. The room was directly opposite the elevator, which led to some noise annoyances. Would be better to have the doors fully sealed to not be disturbed. "Very good location! Love downtown portland! I did call to have a crib in the room a couple days before our arrival but it was not one in the room that we were assigned to. The housekeeping opened our door early in the morning 8 ish but did not ever come back to clean our room or gave clean towels. The front desk people are very nice and welcoming. "

"I’ve stayed at the Inn on St John many times. I have a long commute from home to Portland. I stay when the weather is bad and the travel is dangerous. I like to stay at the inn because the it very affordable, comfortable and very easy to check in, find food nearby and relax in my room.
