2/10 Terrible

I am an avid traveler and this was the worst experience of my traveling career
1. Prior to my stay it was beyond difficult to contact my host and get check in information. Multiple calls from myself and from VRBO. About two days before my departure VRBO made contact just to get check in info. This was crucial because I was coming from a different country and knew I would not likely have cell service.
2. Make it to flat, checked in, neighborhood ok, flat close to London tube. However, I want to take a shower after a long international flight...no hot water!! Enough said...
3. Got a call on my London cell that I purchased at the train station, my host tells me they need a several hundred dollar deposit. I don't know who I am talking to on my phone, I don't know if this is legit. I tell them I need to contact VRBO to make sure this is proper.
4. 30 mins later a strange man knocks on the apartment door. I am reluctant to answer a little afraid he tells me he is here about the deposit. I cracked the door explain to him my concern and inform him I'm waiting to hear back from VRBO before I give them my credit card.
5. Get my bearings and call them back about the hot water. They informed me that they will send maintenance...suprise no one ever shows up.
6. VRBO gives me the ok to give them this several hundred dollar deposit; but I will need to check my credit card statement to make sure it's refunded. Will get statement next month.
7. Did I say no hot water, dishwasher did not work, neither did washer for the clothes. Plug in my adapter to charge my devices, sparks fly from the outlets, all the power goes out. Call them again the same stranger who knocked on my door inquiring about the deposit came to assist. Warm water obtained. Not hot. He let's me barrow his charger.
8. The only reason they get one star is due to location, the unit was at least clean, and check out was easy.
