"Lots of good things to say about this hotel. Really great location in the heart of town in Kyoto. Staff were very friendly and helpful, ordering cabs, directing us to nearby laundry etc. Room was quiet and very comfortable (though not a beautiful view if that’s what you’re after), bathroom large by Japanese standards with a separate toilet. Hotel restaurant was nice and breakfast a good standard. Stayed here with my partner, and 84 year old mother in neighbouring room. I noticed that she felt very comfortable and at ease staying here, chatting to staff and wanting to eat in the hotel all the time. Walking distance to many activities and to train stations. Definitely recommend, very good value for the price we paid with Expedia."

"If you are looking for a traditional ryokan and a more remote area, this is the perfect place. Although it is about 45 mins from Kyoto train station, you will not be disappointed. Upon arrival, we were immediatelty greeted by the staff and welcomed with matcha tea while our bags were taken to our rooms. The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. Our room featured a private onsen overlooking the mountains. It was absolutely breathtaking. Both dinner and breakfast were amazing! We stayed one night and spent the next morning walking around the small town which was quite quaint and adorable. We would definitely stay here again!"

"Wow - we have just checked out from a 1 night stay at this Yoshida Sanso and we were truly amazed at both the place itself and even more so the lovely people that looked after us so well! We are celebrating our honeymoon in Japan and the family who run the Ryokan couldn’t have done more to make our stay a more memorable one! Would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful and authentic Ryokan experience! ❤️"

"Literally everything about this place has been absolutely amazing. We got the tatami floor room with a bath and a view. The room is huge, the bathtub is huge, and the futons are more comfortable than expected. The view is beautiful too! I go in and out a lot to smoke, so I like that the smoking section is close to the entrance. But every time I walk by the front desk I am greeted with nothing but happiness and smiles. I have felt sooooo welcome here. The private Onsen was super nice and clean too! The location is pretty far away from anything so be prepared to spend a lot on taxis. But I knew that coming here. I'm happy it's on the super outskirts of Kyoto. It's so quiet up here in the mountains compared to the center of the city. This was the perfect way to end our trip in Japan. There's also lots of temples within walking distance to see! They even held our luggage for us on the first day so we could explore. Then our luggage was waiting for us in the room when we walked in! The place has really good wifi too! It This was a definite 10/10."
