"This small hotel is perfect in every way. The room was surprisingly spacious relative to Japanese rooms, and the fall foliage from our balcony was lovely. The main gripe is that we had forwarded our luggage from Hakuba and I was first informed that reception was not attended to for 2 hours, then I was informed it was 3 and when we got there, it was 4. "There were two Japanese well maintained gardens and stone paving hallway outside. They were beautiful and they made us feel very historical culture. The summer season in Kyoto is very uncomfortable to stay outside because of the hight temperature but, in this house, for some reason we could stay comfortably without air conditioner. "This property is on the outskirts of Kyoto so dining options were limited. However the breakfasts were fantastic and we should have tried the dinner option. Transportation to and from Kyoto station was easy given the nearby bus stop and City Line 6. We enjoyed the large pool (although it unfortunately closes each day at 5 which is too early) and the communal bath was relaxing! Staff was helpful and friendly. Room was large, quiet and very clean. Area around the property was safe and very quiet. A great place to stay. I have been back home for four days and have already recommended this place to a few coworkers. "
