"The riverfront location was stunning and teeming with wildlife. We saw hippos, elephants, baboons and even lions right in the camp, and every meal was delightful under the shade of the big tree. "Staff struggled to speak English. There wasn’t a cook on-staff to cook dinner or breakfast. They come from Nelspruit (1 hour away). The bathroom had no toilet paper. The pool had green slime all through it. The bathroom had excessive mold on the ceilings. The surrounding area was extremely rural and wasn’t a safe feeling. "My sister and I had a girls trip and chose the Perfect place to stay. I love the small and more intimate places and this was not too busy. Absolutely fantastic staff who were so happy to see you and nothing was too much trouble for us. "

"We liked the hosts Colin and Carolien so much. They could not do enough for us. We asked for a bigger room and we got the biggest room I have ever had in a lodge! They even drove us to get food and were such great company. The lodge was brilliant - very African. Zebras came right up to us! the wildlife in Marloth Park is very tame. The lodges are African style so quite dark as designed to be cool. Colin and Carolien had a generator which worked when the power was out which was often. "

"This is a nice property near Phabeni gate of Kruger National Park, which is just a 6 minute drive. Akani is a great host and if you need anything he will bend over backwards to help! You can park right next to your chalet, which is very helpful. - I personally hate lodges where you have to park a distance away! - There is a pub nearby that gets noisy at times, but if you run a fan it drowns out the noise. The property is very close to the main road and is very safe! "

Incredible first safari

"Generally incredible stay. Staff were very attentive. Not as luxury as hotels such as say lion sands which is twice the price though you get all the comfort you need given how busy the days are. If you plan on spending more time in the hotel / room maybe look for more luxury but the balance of comfort and access to the park was perfect for us as first time safari travelers Perfect mix of hotel comfort and access to safari with two daily drives with very knowledgable guides. Small negative was the food was only ok but the quality of the surrounding and access to Kruger more than compensated. We had a family of elephants welcome us on our first day with regular hippo and bird sightings from the terrace during out four nights. We also got engaged in the park. The staff and Elof the guide coordinated an unforgettable experience for my partner and I. Truly made the experience special. "
