"This hotel is a bit run down, it feels pretty basic and needs renovations (very poor flooring). Location is not great, both for distance to the real point of interest, which is Galle's fort, and for being in front of a busy road which is very noisy although at night we slept well (ie no or little traffic at night). It can also be difficult to find taxis at that location unless you use tuk tuks which seem to have a bizarre monopoly in the area. Staff was very helpful though. "

"At the end of our Sri Lanka holiday we decided to spend a bit more on our Unawatuna hotel & were not disappointed. We had large rooms with loads of space, kitchen, really comfy beds, excellent views from our balconies. The staff were helpful & the pool lovely. We did book nicer rooms that some there & didn't eat so can't comment on the food. It's a bit of a walk or a short Tuk Tuk ride to the main tourist area or a beach but that also means it's quiet there."

"Large rooms with comfortable bed right on the beach. Easy walking to many tourist shops and many restaurants. Lots of fresh seafood available from these restaurants. Staff was very friendly and eager to help with a smile. The restaurant prepared a seafood grill each night and set tables with candies at the edge of the surf. "We enjoyed staying two nights at Sun N Sea in early April. We enjoyed both the view of the beach/ ocean as well as the food. We were able to walk along the beach and into town easily.
